A Happy and Prosperous new year to everyone! :) Actually been busy at work but cause my brother had face book, I've been there too. A good way to keep up with him. At any rate, I've been (in between gaming, work and reading) doing some research on the mythological symbol of Lilith. Apparently in Ancient Mesopotamia she was known as the handmaiden of Inanna....of course my looking her up led to a research tangent and I found other interesting things - One of those being, in one of the ancient Mesopotamian city states, before the king, Urukagima out lawed it on pain of death to the woman, there was a cultural custom of the women taking multiple husbands. His law out lawing the practice is the only instance of mention about the prior culture that I've come across so far, but if I had to guess, perhaps something like Ancient India or Tibet? I have to wonder if areas like Catalhayuk (or that area in general) had similar cultural practices like that? I can only imagine, but it's got my curiousity up at any rate. ^.^V Also before the first Mesopotamians moved there, apparently (conjectured since the name Tigris and Euphrates linguistically come from a different peoples than the Ancient Mesopotamians) there was a prior peoples there already that we really don't know about. I can just imagine that human migration goes both ways, sometimes doubling back on itself and going in a multitude of directions. Quite a shame to never really know except for tantalizing mostly hidden clues that are seemingly undecipherable. So much we may never know but only imagine. For now, I'll stick to looking more into Lilith's ancient roots because I'm curious and because I have a vague story idea for her.
On that note, and onto a completely differnt tangent, I've found another of my POSH fanfics - or rather the start of one - written in a note book I hadn't looked at for ages. So many unfinished fanfics, I really should finish them. If I ever get motivated, perhaps I'll get there. :) Well, if my original ideas don't get in the way...or too much reading or playing games..... You'd think someone who just turned *beep* on Dec. 30 would have better focus *lol*
Speaking of which, if anyone wants to use face book to leave me a message - I used the name Inari Myobu. Heh, though I warn you I might try to cajole you into playing Vampier Wars with me :P Though I've not been doing much gaming since I've been on a Doctor Who binge. I believe there's going to be a new Doctor coming up in the Spring. A Matt Smith or something. I actually been trying to get some of the older ones, particularly ones with Sarah Jane Smith and the fifth doctor and the episode where the 10th doctor meets the fifth doctor on itunes but that particular last one, I haven't found yet. Did find some Sarah Jane Smith ones though. Not sure about the ones with the 5th doctor, I believe his was in the 1980's somewhere but I'm not an expert so I'm not sure about it. Well, maybe one day Itune'll have them all and I can get them eventually. :)

| Writing in 2009 Meme |

2009 was a really interesting year for writing. I haven't written so much since the combined Ranma/YYH days... I have to thank ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) zen_kitty for persuading me to do the NaNo 2008 because that's really what kick-started this. I chose Smallville for the fandom, finished the 50,000 words (but not the story ;p), rested for a few months and then said, hey, I had fun, I enjoyed it... let's do some more! And I also went this year for challenges, lots and lots of challenges, which I've never done before either. That made it all very fun and exciting.

| Last of the 2009! |

It's the last day of 2009, let's make the most of it. ^^
Which I am doing by sitting at home making myself hot chocolate, petting the cats, and reading my internet. ;p Yes, well, after all that vacation I'm kindof exausted. Napping didn't work well yesterday so slept late today and am still a bit out of it so don't want to brave New Year's traffic anywhere, let alone long drives.
But I am happy to report that thanks to the awesome wonderful zen_kitty, I have Christmas Dragons! An iPhone is nice, but it can't catch dragons. zen_kitty not only caught them for me, she baby-sat them to hatching! :) Thank you so much!!!! ^____^

(my friend managed to get a couple too ^^) Aren't they just the cutest things ever? They look like little mongeese! I love them. I almost wish they didn't have to grow up but I don't like to freeze them. I might just make lots of icons with them instead. :)
And... Clexmas is posting! And MY STORY is out!! And it's AWESOME!!!! {bounces happily around}

I'm in the airport, will be here for another hour waiting for my plane. ... ... And they're playing Christmas music. O.o. And not mellow Chistmas music but the obnoxious upbeat renditions. I just suffered through an annoying Jingle Rock, then Happy Holidays, and... Guys, Xmas was OVER five days ago. KNOCK IT OFF.
{sigh} It's going to be a long wait. |

I have left the Strip and the casinos and am now at Candy's for the rest of the vacation. Which means I get to borrow her computer and internet and do some real internet browsing and posting and not my cell phone bit that I've been on, lol. So if I've missed anything in the last several days, please please let me know! Keeping up has been a bit sporadic and I know I've probably missed some stuff.

"What the hell are these guys again?" I grabbed two gunners from the upper level and smashed them against the bunker ceiling.
"Lost," Urioch grunted, blasting aside a big bruiser with a really big, nasty blade.
Lost. What the hell kind of gang name was that? "They look like genetic rejects from a mutant love fest." The big bruiser with the blade launched at us again, but I caught him in mid-leap and held him while Urioch gave him an in-the-face introduction to Mr. Energy Blast. For moment, the room quieted to the hum of equipment, surviving florescent lighting, and an odd pulse that I couldn't identify.
